Pro-Gro Nursery has been in business since 1970, I am a third generation nurseryman. We produce 25 acres of high quality bare root liners and finished B & B stock. Although we do not produce a broad range of plants we strive to produce top quality plants at a reasonable price. By focusing our production on a limited number of plant varieties this has allowed us to gain better knowledge of the varieties that we produce. Thus allowing us to produce high quality trees. In addition to some of the common varieties of trees, we produce some of the more difficult to find trees. Bare root plants, with the exception of patio peach, are staked to assure a straight central leader. Since staking a tree temporally weakens the tree (smaller caliper) some varieties will require staking for one year after you receive them. This will allow the tree to build enough caliper to support the top. Bare root trees are graded for a ample root system and straight central leader. Our goal is to ship our customers plants that has the potential to produce a top grade marketable tree. Ball and burlap trees adequately spaced apart and are topped back on a yearly basis to insure full heads.
